[[Johannes Herold]], an entrepreneur and self-proclaimed "tech geek", became interested in the Internet from an early age and founded his first business, Chat World, after finding that certain functions were missing from online chatrooms he encountered. He discovered the world of [[Domain Name]]s and eventually purchased checkdomain.de in 2001.
