He served as the inaugural Chairman and Chief Executive of the Australian Media and Communications Authority (ACMA) until 2016—a role acknowledged by the Federal Minister for Communications for a decade of distinguished service. Under his leadership, ACMA underwent significant organizational transformation and played a pivotal role in shaping the policy discourse on regulation in broadcasting, telecommunications, spectrum, and online services.
In recognition of his decade-long experiences and achievements, Chris was appointed President of the International Institute of Communications in 2016, making history as the first president from the Asia Pacific region in the organization's nearly 50-year history.
Since 2016, Chris has diversified his directorships and engagements, spanning philanthropy, and sports advisory with a focus on governance, film script development, international media, communications, bleeding-edge digital technologies, and digital transformation consulting.
