'''David H. Crocker''' is a principal with Brandenburg InternetWorking. He designs network-based applications businesses and system architectures. He worked in the ARPA network research community during the 1970s, and led product development efforts at MCI and various Silicon Valley companies, during the 1980s. He then founded several startup companies, serving as CEO for one. Dave developed and operated two national email services, designed two others, and was CEO of a community non-profit ISP. His senior management product efforts cover email clients and servers, core protocol stacks for TCP/IP and OSI, network management control stations, and knowledge management tools for product support. Dave is active with anti-abuse efforts for DKIM, and BATV, as underpinnings for evolution to a trusted email infrastructure. While at Digital Equipment Corporation, Dave initiated an internally funded project for open enhancement of the then-problematic BIND software used by DNS servers. Dave has been active in DNS policy work. Jon Postel named him as a member of the IAHC and he was editor of its proposal to add more top-level domains to the DNS. Its recommendations formed the basis of the eventual enhancements to domain name administration. Dave also was active in the ICANN Non-Commercial Domain Name Holders Constituency.
