This will be a focused and dedicated face-to-face meeting in which the 21 elected Councilors of the [[Generic Names Supporting Organization|GNSO Council]] will work to develop a work plan for the year ahead.

This will be a focused and dedicated face-to-face meeting in which the 21 elected Councilors of the [[Generic Names Supporting Organization|GNSO Council]], select ICANN Board Members, ICANN support staff, and GNSO liasions will work to develop a work plan for the year ahead.

Although the GNSO Council meets face-to-face at ICANN meetings three times per year, there has never been sufficient time to focus on long-term strategic planning. Accordingly, this is a new meeting that has been created to allow the Council to adhere to its new responsibilities as a part of the [[Empowered Community]] following the [[IANA Transition|IANA transition]].
