GR-Hostmaster is the registry which manages the .gr ccTLD for Greece, which is a department under FORTH-ICS, a department of the Institute of Computer Science of the Foundation for Research and Technology. FORTH-ICS registered and started operating the ccTLD in 1989.[1]
As of July 4th, 2005, it became possible to register Greek character domain names, such as [όνομα.gr].[1]
Since December 2010, all [.gr] domain names could be digitally signed using DNSSEC technology.[1]
