Dr. Johannes Loxen is Co-Founder and CEO of SerNet[1].

Career History

Johannes Loxen served as member of the Supervisory Board at DENIC[2] for 9 years since 2007. Under his supervision information security and data protection at DENIC evolved from a simple spreadsheet guided process to a full scope audited and certified security environment. He stepped back from this position in 2016 because 3 terms in a row is his personal limit for any elected position.

In 1996 Johannes Loxen founded SerNet, focused on internet and information security, including registrar services, VPN and firewall services for midsize and large corporations in the private and public sector. SerNet also produces verinice, the only Open Source ISMS-Tool for ISO 2700x, BSI Baseline Security and GDPR data protection rules and law. SerNet is domain registrar by membership of DENIC.

In March 2017 Johannes Loxen co-founded AUDEG[3] as a non-for-profit association. AUDEG members are auditors, esp. in the field of information security, using the association as a voice for their joint interests in a rapidly evolving market and to organise audit & certification services from an independent organisation.

Education

Dr. Loxen earned his Diploma in Physics (1991), a PhD in Astro-Physics (1996), and he studied physics and law at Göttingen University.
