.ninja is an active gTLD that was proposed in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The Registry and manager of the TLD is Rightside/Demand Media (United TLD Holdco Ltd.). The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 29 December, 2013.<br />

The term “ninja” is a generic and broadly used word with a particular affinity in popular culture as a term that describes a person with special expertise or skills (e.g. HTML Ninja) or people with special interest in different forms of martial arts. Global in scope, today a passionate group of millions of consumers identify with this word. The mission and purpose of the .ninja TLD is to establish an easily recognized and accessible namespace for this large and dynamic group.

As stated on their application, Monolith Registry, LLC envisions the .VOTE TLD to be an easily identifiable Internet space where users seeking information on any given election or question that is put to a vote can easily find information regarding issues, candidates and options. .VOTE will not be open to the general public, but rather is intended for political candidates, political action committees (PACs), political committees, and other verifiable registrants.
