Mariana is a NextGen@ICANN Fellow. Her first ICANN participation was at the ICANN62 Policy Meeting held in Panama City in 2018. She is a Brazilian Law student at the Federal University of Pernambuco where she is a member of the Discussing Digital Law, Internet and Technology (DDIT) extension group. Mariana is also an Undegraduate Fellow Researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development in Brazil (CNPq). Her research field is related to the rise of digital platforms and their impact on the rights of privacy and personal data protection. She took part in the Internet Governance Forum 2017 as a Youth Fellow selected by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee. Some of her researches results were presentend in conferences such as the Connected Life Conference 2018, organized by the Oxford Internet Institute of the University of Oxford.
