Marilia Monteiro is a Mozilla Tech Policy Fellow based in Brasília, Brazil.
Career History
Marilia Monteiro worked as a graduate research assistant at the Berlin Social Science Center (WZB) within the LATINNO project, a research on democratic innovation in Latin America (2017). She was also a graduate researcher at the Privacy Brazil project, on public policies and data protection in the country - a partnership between the Ford Foundation and the Internet Lab. [1]
Previously, Marília was a Policy Manager and Analyst at the Brazilian Ministry of Justice's Consumer Office from 2013-2015, where she managed digital policies for consumer protection and law enforcement. She coordinated the government public comments (2015) for Brazil's first general data protection law.
