Mensa is an IQ Society, that welcomes members from every walk of life, irrespective of political, racial or religious distinction, whose score is in the top 2% of the population.

Founding

It was founded by Roland Berrill and Dr.Lance Ware in 1946 in England with the aim of forming a society for bright people with the objective of enjoying each other's company and participating in a wide range of social and cultural activities. [1]

Membership

Membership is open to people of all walks of life and levels of education provided they score within the upper two percent of the general population on an approved intelligence test that has been properly administered and supervised. A practice test is also offered at a minimal fee of $9,99 for those who wish to find out if they are Mensa material. [2]
