Until April, 2006, Sharil served as the Senior Advisor in the Office of the Chairman and General Manager in the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission ([[MCMC]]). He then left his position at [[MCMC]] and is now with a strategic and financial advisory firm called [[BinaFikir]]. He has been appointed as the special envoy for Malaysia in the [[GAC]] by the [[MCMC]], in recognition of his contribution and interest in the [[GAC]].
