In November, 2011, Nominet suspended over 2,000 domain names that were identified by Metropolitan police as belonging to people engaged in fraudulent retail activities. The new policy, which is to begin in May, allows registration from anywhere from 1 to 10 years. The prior policy only allowed registration in two-year blocks.
