Seth Bouvier, PH.D. is the Director of [[Cybersecurity] for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Before that, he worked for the U.S. Department of State as a Foreign Affairs Officer, which he took up in September 2011.
He is self-described as working on the following primary Internet policy goals:
- Advancing the freedoms of expression, assembly and association on the Internet, mobile phone networks, and other new technologies worldwide
- Protecting the dynamic, multistakeholder structure of global Internet governance
- Ensuring that investment in cyber capacity respects Internet freedom and the free flow of information
He is also interested in issues of academic freedom and the intersection of science and human rights.
Bouvier was formerly an a postdoctoral researcher for the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University. He has also written about The Internet and Academic Freedom for Science Magazine.
