Tess Van Geelen is an Honours law student and researcher at Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and has co-authored publications on the human rights implications of online content moderation by private internet companies. Her research has explored the responsibility of private intermediaries to respect human rights and prevent abuse and harassment online, in addition to empirical investigations that seek to understand how platforms moderate harmful content in practice, including hatespeech and terrorism.
