Vendare Media is an online performance marketing business and the creator of “InFocus,” touted as the first integrated targeting system capable of delivering maximum performance and values at no extra costs. Vendare Media was established in 1999, and a major part of the business is owned by Idealab. Vendare Media is now known as Epic Media Group. Originally, the company was headquartered in California and with branch offices in New York City, Chicago and San Francisco [1] Today, this company which has a workforce of around 200 people has two headquarters, in Los Angeles and New York with branches in Chicago, Vietnam, Toronto, London and San Francisco.

Name Change

The original company Vendare Media unified with Net Blue[2][3] in the year 2006 to form Connexus. In 2010, Connexus and Epic Advertising came together and Epic Media Group was born as the parent company [4].

History

Vendare Media was founded jointly by Bill Gross and Marcia Goldstein in 1999. In 2003, the company purchased Traffic MarketPlace from Vivendi Universal. The current president of this network, Don Mathis, was appointed in 2005. In 2006, the company shifted its headquarters to New York from its original location in Markham, Ontario. In the year 2007, the assets of the company passed $100 million.[5]

InFocus Solution

The InFocus solution created by Vendare Media in 2005 comprises of four basic components[6][7]:

  • InZone™ (for local targeting)
  • InReach™ (for demographic targeting)
  • InContext™ (for contextual targeting)
  • InProfile™ (for behavioral targeting)

These integrated services solutions were the third largest online ad network, and spread across more than half of the United States. InFocus came around as the complementary solution for the proprietary optimization of Vendare’s engine, which had made a historical impact by enabling planners and buyers to measure and maximize the impact of marketing campaigns on the Internet while accessing up to 85 million unique users on a monthly basis.[8]
