.bo

From ICANNWiki

.bo is the ccTLD for Bolivia. It is managed by the Agencia para el Desarrollo de la Información de la Sociedad en Bolivia (ADSIB)[1] (English: Agency for the Development of the Information Society in Bolivia).

Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

In general, anyone is able to register a .bo domain name. According the the contract presented by ADSIB, the rule is that "the registration and use, whether directly or indirectly, of the requested domain name does not infringe upon the intellectual or industrial property rights of third parties, nor does it constitute an act of unfair competition or any other act that infringes the rights of third parties or constitutes administrative violations or criminal offenses."[2]

Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]

The second-level Domains ".edu.bo", ".gob.bo.", "mil.bo" and "int.bo" are considered restricted. To register, one is required to fill a registration form and present:

  • a letter of request from the highest institutional authority requesting the domain name, addressed to the Executive Director of ADSIB
  • a document that certifies the suitability of the applicant's Legal Representation;
  • a photocopy of the ID of the person signing the request. If the applicant is a third party, they must also include a photocopy of the special power of attorney granted by the legal representative.[3]

There is a page at the NIC.BO website with a list of second-level Domains that are not available for registration, which can be seen here.
