.sc is the ccTLD for Seychelles. It is managed by VCS Pty Ltd.[1]
Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]
Domain names that include trademarks of other parties or words which are not permitted in business names are not registered, unless the applicant is legally entitled to such words. Names which are offensive, obscene, or may confuse or grossly mislead the public are also not accepted.[2]
Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]
The following second-level domains are available:
- .com.sc: for companies and commercial business organisations;
- .net.sc: for network service providers, such as ISPs;
- .edu.sc: for educational and academic institutions and related organisations;
- .gov.sc: for Seychelles government ministries and departments;
- .org.sc: for non-profit organizations, such as NGOs.[2]
Characters[edit | edit source]
Domain names should be short (no more than 10 characters is recommended). Names should comprise only the letters a-z, the digits 0-9 and the dash -. Also, names should not begin or end in a dash, nor consist of a single character.
Names with hyphens will be regarded as separate entities. (i.e. abc-def.sc and abcdef.sc will be two separate domains).[2]
