CPDP.ai[1] founded in 2007, is a non-profit platform founded by research groups from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, the Université de Namur and Tilburg University.

Thanks to its distinctive multidisciplinary approach, CPDP has become a leading conference on data protection and privacy, both in Europe and globally. In 2024, in response to the growing commercial use of Artificial Intelligence, the event expanded its focus to include AI, updating its acronym to reflect this shift—now encompassing Computers, Privacy, Data Protection, and AI.[2]

Since 2007, CPDP has brought together academics, lawyers, practitioners, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society from around the world to share experiences and knowledge annually in Brussels. It offers a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and discuss emerging issues and trends in the field .[3].

The event is supported by major sponsors such as TikTok, Google, Microsoft, Uber, Mozilla, among others, making it a platform for dialogue not only between government and academia, but also with key market leaders—something rarely seen in most Internet governance events [4]. Those interested can participate by proposing a panel [5] , Paper [6] or Workshop [7].
