FLISOL (Festival Latinoamericano de Instalación de Software Libre) [1] is the largest Latin American event for the promotion of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS), that had its beginnings in Colombia [2]. It is celebrated annually in April, simultaneously in numerous cities across Latin America and other parts of the world. The event is organized by local communities and is aimed at both newcomers and experienced users of free software.
Established in 2005, the event includes talks, workshops, and exhibitions on topics such as free software, open standards, cybersecurity, digital rights, and emerging technologies. The event is characterized by a community-based and decentralized structure, with volunteers coordinating independently while sharing a unified mission across borders.[3]
