Internet Legislation Atlas
Internet Legislation Atlas (ILA) was an initiative that assessed and visualized the level of compliance of selected digital rights vis-à-vis international human rights standards in seven countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA): Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and Tunisia. The project examined the legal frameworks that govern the Internet in the region, and focuses on the level of protection afforded particularly to freedom of expression and the right to privacy. ILA was a project by Hivos and ARTICLE 19 in cooperation with ASL19 (Iran), Support for Information Technology Center (Egypt), Iraqi Network for Social Media (Iraq), ATA (Jordan), Maharat Foundation (Lebanon and Syria), and Amor Boubakri (independent consultant, Tunisia).[1]
The project has no news since 2016, and their official page fails to load as of September 2025.
