.ovh is a Community Brand TLD delegated in ICANN's New gTLD Program. OVH SAS manages the TLD and is its Registry. The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 19 June, 2014.[1][2] which is a French hosting company. It is one of the few open, branded community TLD applications: "Buying a .ovh extension will be an entry-level opportunity for an individual to secure a visible web identity at a lower cost than the current rates. It will represent the occasion for this person to easily take place on the webspace without any financial risk. Additionally, the .ovh extension will be a way for this person to assert his belonging to the OVH IT community and enjoy privileged access to OVH services and forums where a large group of customers already collaborate to provide for mutual assistance.
Access conditions to a .ovh domain are completely open, as any OVH customer can acquire one."
Its community of clients comprises "approximately 400,000 members."[3]
Contract Signed[edit | edit source]
On 16 January 2014 OVH SAS received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .ovh after passing all the required processes needed to become a Registry Operator for the string.[4]
