Par Brumark (Pär Brumark, Sweden/Niue), Vice-Chair ICANN ICANN Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) 2017, 2018 - 2020, 2021 - 2022.

ICANN Involvement

Governmental Advisor to The Government of Niue (since 2010) as well as Niue´s ICANN GAC Representative (ICANN Governmental Advisory Committee) since 2013. In spite of Niue´s small population, the Pacific nation´s ccTLD .nu has about 400 000 domains registered internationally.

Pär Brumark has a background in Technology, Intellectual Property, IT-Security, Media industry and Public Relations.

As an ICANN GAC Representative, Pär Brumark has attended the following ICANN meetings: ICANN 47- Durban, ICANN 48- Buenos Aires, ICANN 49- Singapore, ICANN 50 - London, ICANN 51- Los Angeles, ICANN 52- Singapore, ICANN 53 - Buenos Aires, ICANN 54 - Dublin, ICANN 55 - Marrakech, ICANN 56 - Helsinki , ICANN 57 - Hyderabad, ICANN 58 - Copenhagen, ICANN 59 - Johannesburg, ICANN 60, Abu Dhabi - ICANN 61 - San Juan , ICANN 62 - Panama, ICANN 64, Kobe, ICANN 65, Marrakech and is due to attend at ICANN 66, Montreal in Nov 2019, ICANN 67 - 73 Virtual meetings due to Covid, ICANN 74 The Hague, ICANN 75 Kuala Lumpur, ICANN 76 Cancun.

Pär Brumark is also since 2014 one of five ICANN GAC Appointed Members of the CCWG on Enhancing ICANN Accountability WS1 during the IANA Transition:

As a CCWG Member, Brumark on a weekly basis attends the ICANN CCWG/sub group Adobe Connect meetings as well as the CCWG Face-to-Face meetings on various locations. Pär Brumark participates in several Sub- and Working Groups connected to the CCWG on Enhancing ICANN Accountability.

Pär Brumark is also a Member of The ICANN GAC Public Safety Working Group (PSWG) on Security:

In December 2020, Brumark and a team of volunteers across Swedish internet and academic circles launched an effort to restore control of the .nu ccTLD to the nation of Niue.[1]


Education: University of Lund, Sweden, 1983-86, Informationsteknik. Additional University studies in Law, Intelligence analysis and Methodology in Political Theory at the Univeristy of Lund.
