Paulo Tavares is an Information Security Senior Analyst, focused on privacy, at EBANX. He was a NextGen@ICANN when he was a law student at the Catholic University of Pernambuco (UNICAP), a researcher in the Institute of Research on Technology and Law of Recife (IP.Rec). He is also a member of the Committee on Technology and Information of Law of the OAB/PE (Brazilian Lawyer Association of Pernambuco). His research field is about the digital economy evolving and its relations towards the right to privacy and data protection as also policy issues related to domain names and IP addresses. His first ICANN participation was at ICANN62 policy meeting held in Panama City in 2018. He took part in the Internet Governance Forum (IGF) 2017 as a Youth Fellow selected by the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br) and the same way in the VII Forum of the Internet in Brazil. He is currently developing a startup to automate solutions for small businesses to comply with GDPR provisions.
