Chalaby joined Andersen Consulting Ventures, now [[Accenture]] Capital Markets, after receiving his Master Degree in 1977. He became Partner of the company in 1987. After three years, he was again promoted, supervising the company's stock exchange and capital markets business in the United Kingdom, Nordic countries, Ireland and South Africa. He also supervised the company's business activities in New York, Tokyo, Paris and Hong Kong and the Middle East. In 2000, he was appointed to Managing Partner, leading the company's European operations. He also served as Managing Partner of Mergers & Acquisitions and Venture Capital businesses for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India until his retirement from the firm. As Senior Member of the Accenture Investment Committee One Billion Dollar Fund, he was instrumental in the acquisition of 11 companies and investments made to 15 technology start-up companies.
