DNS Belgium has been created in 1999 by [[ISPA]], [[Betug]] and [[Agoria]].
The most important services that DNS Belgium covers relate to stimulating cooperation between the Internet service providers, organizing all details for registration from technical ones to regulatory issues. <ref>[http://www.dns.be/en/about_dnsbe/mission]</ref>
DNS.be is organized with a Board of Directors and a Strategic Committee.
The Board is the major controlling entity formed of three members.
The Strategic Committee is formed of representatives of founding members (representatives of [[ISPA]], [[Agoria]] and [[Betug]], effective members (prof. Pierre Verbaeten) and advisory members (the Belgian Institute of Postal and Telecommunications Services). Currently, there are in total 9 members in this committee.
