Deborah Escalera joined ICANN as a member of the gTLD Team on 31 October 2011 as the team's administrative assistant. She then moved on to become a Business Analyst for the team and has recently changed departments to become the Coordinator for the NextGen@ICANN program under the Development and Public Responsibility Department. She is responsible for supporting the operation of the Fellowship and NextGen Programs through coordination of work plans, materials and outreach. Prior to joining ICANN, Deborah’s background was in community outreach, education, and Emergency Management for the American Red Cross and The Los Angeles Air Force Base.

Recently Deborah was promoted to Program Manager for the Public Responsibility Support Department where she is responsible for managing the NextGen and Newcomers Programs as well as managing the ICANN information booth at the ICANN meetings. Prior to joining ICANN, Deborah’s background was in community outreach, education, and Emergency Management for the American Red Cross and The Los Angeles Air Force Base.
