In March 2017 Johannes Loxen co-founded '''AUDEG'''<ref>[https://www.audeg.de/en AUDEG eG]</ref> as a non-for-profit association. AUDEG members are auditors, esp. in the field of information security, using the association as a voice for their joint interests in a rapidly evolving market and to organise audit & certification services from an independent organisation.

Johannes Loxen served as member of the supervisory board at DENIC<ref>[https://www.denic.de/en DENIC eG]</ref>for 9 years since 2007. He stepped back in 2016 because 3 terms in a row is his personal limit for any elected position.
