As Director General of APNIC, Wilson is primarily involved in the different activities and meetings of ICANN. He represents the views and interests of the organization regarding the different issues and policies of ICANNN. For example, in 2008, Wilson wrote to then ICANN Chairman [[Peter Dengate Thrush]] and President & CEO [[Paul Twomey]] expressing APNIC's unanimous support regarding ICANN's decision to sign the [[DNS]] [[Root Zone]] using [[DNSSEC]], further requesting that it should be done as soon as possible once all issues are resolved.<ref>[http://www.icann.org/en/correspondence/wilson-to-dengate-thrush-28aug08.pdf APNIC Community Request to Sign the DNS Root]</ref> He also attended and led the recent presentations of APNIC during the previous ICANN and ASO meetings such as:
