GZ Kabir is the former Chair of SANOG (South Asian Network Operators Group) but still participating as a very active Core Committee Member. He became a fellow at ICANN54, ICANN57, ICANN59 and ICANN61 & ICANN68 and also selected twice as Alumni Mentors to make the newcomers acquainted with ICANN functions before the event. He engaged himself in ICANN world as a member of GNSO to actively engage in NCUC and ISPCP constituencies. Also, recently he became Member at  GNSO RDS PDP Working Group keeping a close eye on the development stage. Also keeping close eye on the list activities in GNSO Anti-abuse and Auction and importantly New gTLD Subsequent Procedures Sub Team – Track 5 as member. Another key role he had to deliver was to Chair the APNIC42 (Colombo, Sri Lanka) Programme Committee. He is also serving as a member of the Fellowship Committee of APRICOT since 2013. He got his ISOC membership in 2009. He attended several IGF meetings online.

In the country he is now the member of National Network Design Committee headed by a2i (Access to Information project of Prime Minister's Office). He was elected as the Director of ISP Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), also an active member of the Advisory Committee of BDCERT and member of ISOC Dhaka, Bangladesh chapter. He is also the Trustee  of BDNOG. On a regular basis he takes part in the different Outreach events. He also talks with Government Regulatory Bodies to make Digital Bangladesh by the year 2021. In his more than 20 years of experience he has worked on different Systems and Networking technologies. His expertise lies in designing and developing mission critical infrastructure for large Corporate.

He completed his Master's Degree from the Dhaka University. Also got certified by Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Dhaka University for its ACMP 4.0 Course (Advanced Certification for Management Professionals).
