Dr. Joanna Kulesza is an Assistant Professor of International Law and Director of the Lodz Cyber Hub at the University of Lodz. Her research focuses on the application of international law in cyberspace, cybersecurity, digital governance, and human rights in the digital realm. She has held postdoctoral positions at the University of Cambridge and Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and has delivered guest lectures at prestigious institutions, including Stanford University, the University of Oxford, and Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

Dr. Kulesza serves as a liaison to the Governmental Advisory Committee of ICANN and has been actively engaged in global policy initiatives, including the UN's efforts to develop an international cybercrime convention. She is also a participant in the "Oxford Process on International Law Protections in Cyberspace" and has contributed to multiple international declarations.

Her research projects include collaborations with the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), the European External Action Service (EEAS), ENISA, and the European Commission. She has led projects on cybersecurity cooperation in Asia, digital human rights, and international cyber law frameworks. Dr. Kulesza is a reviewer for esteemed academic journals and has authored multiple monographs and articles on digital governance, platform regulation, and state responsibility in cyberspace.

Beyond academia, she is committed to human rights advocacy, gender equality, and LGBTQIA+ rights. She is also an organizer of international legal conferences and summer schools on internet governance. Balancing her academic career with personal well-being, she practices mindfulness, yoga, and meditation, and has a deep appreciation for Japanese culture and Jungian philosophy.

Dr. Kulesza’s work continues to influence international cyber policy, shaping discussions on state responsibility, sanctions, and regulatory frameworks for emerging technologies.
