Calvin Browne is a Director of UniForum SA.[1] He handles the responsibilities of Financial Director, Vice Chairperson of the board and Joint spokesperson. Mr. Browne is also a founder, director and shareholder in Domain Name Services. He is overseeing UniForum's ZA Central Registry (ZACR), trading as Registry.Africa, which is the African Union supported applicant for the .africa TLD.[2][3]

He actively attends ICANN Meetings[4][5] and also participates in AfNOG, AfriNIC, RIPE NCC,[6] ISOC and INET events.[7]

He has been a nominee for an ICANN At Large regional post.[8]

Career History[edit | edit source]

Mr. Browne has served on the ISOC - South Africa's board as a committee member in charge of membership and was a part of the drafting committee set up by ISOC ZA to resolve .za namespace issues. He started working in the 90's while he was working as his certification as an accountant. Around 1993, he started implementing large scale Unix based accounting, MRP and logistics based information systems. Later, he joined a computer networking company and then helped in set up an ISP.[9]
