Citizen Hawk is an online brand management solutions provider that helps companies protect their online brands by targeting cybersquatters. Citizen Hawk continually monitors the web to expose the typosquatters and cyberscammers affecting their clients' business. They shutdown and recover these fraudulent domains for their clients.[1]

The process of identifying cybersquatters and filing with the UDRP are completely automated at Citizen Hawk. This generic filing of UDRP has created some problems for the company in the past. There have been cases of carelessness and errors in the filings which have negatively affected their clients.[2] [3]

History[edit | edit source]

Citizen Hawk was founded in 2006 by Graham MacRobie and is based in Aliso Viejo, California.[4]

In 2008, Citizen Hawk received a funding of $3Million from Maveron LLC.[5]

Business Model[edit | edit source]

Citizen Hawk has an innovative business model. It files a complaint against cybersquatters with ICANN on behalf of its clients, and pays the complaint filing fees up front. After the domain is recovered, it charges a commission on the ad revenue of these domains.[7]

Citizen Hawk is a part of the LinkShare affiliate network[8] and an affiliate of Hydra.[9]
