Baher Esmat is the Manager of Regional Relations with the Middle East at ICANN.[1]

Esmat is a former member of the WSIS Working Group on Internet Governance (WGIG), and served as Chair of the Egyptian IPv6 Task Force before he joined ICANN. His area of interests include Internet policies relative to ICANN's authority regarding DNS and IP addresses, and areas like access, mobility, and security.[2]

He received a bachelors degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Cairo University in 1993, and a masters degree in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo in 1999. [3]
