In 2009, ICANN was invited by ICANN's Implementation Recommendation Team ([[IRT]]) to share its experience in providing rights protection mechanisms for [[.asia]], [[.tel]], [[.me]] and [[.nl]] TLD registries, to provide recommendations in order to develop strategies that will increase trademark protections for new TLDs.
