.cruise is a proposed new TLD in ICANN's New gTLD Program.
Applicants
There are two applicants seeking the approval of the internet governing body to include .cruise TLD in the root zone of the internet domain name system and to serve as registry operator. The companies include:[1]
- Cruise Lines International Association Inc.- The largest association of major cruise lines with 26 members operating in North America and operates and operates under an agreement with Federal Maritime Commission under the Shipping Act of 1984. Tom Hohman, Chief Financial Officer of the company is the main contact person in the application. [2]
- Viking River Cruises (Bermuda) Ltd.- It is the leading river cruise line. [3]
