GZ Kabir is currently the General Manager & HoD of System Integration of BDCOM Online Ltd.

Career[edit | edit source]

GZ Kabir is currently the HoD of System Integration of BDCOM Online Ltd. As a General Manager he is now engaged in implementing ProHost in BDCOM. In his more than 20+ years of experience he has worked on different Systems and Networking technologies. His expertise lies in designing and developing mission critical infrastructure for large Corporate.

ICANN Involvement[edit | edit source]

GZ Kabir became a fellow at ICANN54, ICANN57 and ICANN59. ICANN57 is the biggest achievement for him as he was honoured by the Fellowship Officials making him a Coach for the few Fellows so that they can be mentored for the vast world of ICANN activities. He became a member of NCSG, NCUC @ ICANN. Also he is enjoying the Observer Status of GNSO RDS PDP Working Group keeping a close eye on the development stage. But from ICANN59 he started his real ICANN activities as the event made him understand about the policy processes and ongoing activities of ICANN. His current activities is focused on Outreach activities of ISPCP constituency.

Involvement in Internet Governance[edit | edit source]

GZ Kabir is currently nominated as the  Chair of SANOG (South Asian Network Operators Group). Another current key role he has to deliver is to Chair the APNIC42 Programme Committee. He is also serving as a member of the Fellowship Committee of APRICOT since 2013. He got his ISOC membership in 2009.

In the country he is now the member of National Network Design Committee headed by a2i (Access to Information project of Prime Minister's Office). He is elected as the Director of ISP Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB), also an active member of the Advisory Committee of BDCERT and member of ISOC Dhaka, Bangladesh chapter. He is also the Trustee and member of EC of BDNOG. On a regular basis he takes part in the talks with Government Regulatory Bodies to make Digital Bangladesh by the year 2021.

Education[edit | edit source]

He completed his Post Graduation from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He is a Sun Certified Solaris System Administrator and attended many hands on Training related to Internet Technologies from around the world.
