Kaveh Ranjbar is the RSSAC representative for RIPE NCC. He specializes in DNS, Internet measurements, IPv4, IPv6, resource and routing registry databases, Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Internet development, IXPs, big data visualization, and Internet governance.

ICANN Involvement

In 2016, Ranjbar was selected by the RSSAC to serve as a Liaison to the ICANN Board. His term ran until the AGM 2022.

Current Committees

Ranjbar has attended several ICANN meetings, including ICANN 49 in Singapore. He is a member of the RSSAC.

Career

As the RIPE NCC’s Chief Information Officer, Ranjbar is responsible for the organization’s planning, operation, and development of global information services, research, and development. Ranjbar oversees

Ranjbar has been with the RIPE NCC since 2008. Prior to that, he worked for more than 12 years in the Internet services and ISP sectors, mainly in senior technical management positions. He was the engineering founder of one of the largest Iranian ISPs and helped several IT start-ups with software and business process implementations.

Education

Ranjbar received an M.Sc. in Software Engineering from the University of Oxford and has completed Lean Engineering and Agile Management training at MIT.
