Hi Anaya, I've begun editing your articles. I have noticed some problems with your referencing. I originally made note of them with the Computerwire article, but have noticed the problem seems to be universal. It is important that your citations are accurate. Please make sure that everything in your articles references back to the exact page that you originally got the information from. If this requires that you use more than one reference per paragraph, or even per sentence, so be it. But it is integral to the integrity of the site that all our information be appropriately cited. If you could go back through all of your articles and try to fix the references, that would be amazing. Thanks, Caterina

Thanks for the great work, and the continued attention. Right now, we don't have another project we need completed, and we have our hands full. So while I won't be able to give you more work right away, I will keep you in mind for future projects. Please feel free to check back in with us in a little while, or we can otherwise contact you through vWorker should another project become available. Thanks again! Andrew

Hi Anaya, welcome to ICANNWiki. My name's Caterina, and I'm an editor for the site. If you have any questions about the writing process, mediawiki coding, or anything like that, feel free to ask me or Andrew, the other editor. Also, please list the articles you've written on your user page. I have begun the process for you. Take a look at some of the other writers' pages (off the Articles that are being worked on page) to see how it's done. Thanks! Looking forward to working with you. Caterina

I've noticed on the CityLink page that you could use some help with referencing. The way referencing works is that the coding looks like this: , and you place the code after the text that the referencing is citing. Then under the references heading, you use the code reflist, and it will grab all the references you used on the page and put them there automatically for you.
In order to upload a logo, go to the company's website, drag the logo onto your desktop, then on our website, go to Upload file in the lefthand toolbox. Rename the file to something like CitylinkLogo.gif and hit upload. Then take the file name and put it in the logo field in the template.
Additionally, I suggest brushing up on NPOV (neutral point of view) for your future articles. You aren't trying to sell the company, so just state the facts. Caterina

References

Hola Anaya, I am another editor for the site (ahhh! there are more than one of us!), I've noticed that your references seem to be a bit off. Try taking a look at the coding for any of our other articles and see if you can't trouble shoot that problem to make yours look like those. Let me know if you have any questions by using my Discussion Page. I look forward to working with you! Andrew

Also, Please put an emphasis on finding sources outside of the company's own website. Right now you are doing a very thorough job of representing the company by really dissecting their own website and taking all relevant info. It's great to see you put in this level of work, but please use outside sources whenever possible. If you just use their website then you have an article that seems very biased, is not NPOV, and is basically a copy of the company's site, albeit in a different format. So, outside sources make more credible pages with more interesting pages that are in fact NPOV. Thanks for your attention to this! Keep up the good work. Andrew

Query

Hi Andrew, Thanks for your feedback. I need your help. Dreyfus and associés Company is in my list of 50 companies. When I was trying to post this article, I found that this article is already there but only with templates. M.A.R is working on it. Now what am I suppose to do? I have this article written with me. Should I post there? Do let me know. I have also found two of my articles in his list. Anaya

Help

I received your request from help you sent to Ray on vWorker. For future reference you will get a quicker reply if you ask me for help using my Discussion page. So, concerning not finding info: If you don't find info then the article does not need to be written - the goal is to reflect what info is available on the internet- so some articles will be very long and some will be short. Very short articles we call "stubs" and we don't count them as a full part of the 50 article batch, we count them as half a regular article, and sometimes we opt to delete the article instead. Concerning pages in spanish: I use google chrome as a browser, and it very conveniently offers to translate entire pages into whatever language, so it makes it very easy to read an entire page. You could also use a translator (such as Google's language tools. Though, this may have limits on how much text can be translated. I would consider updating your browser to Google Chrome, it works quite well. You reference articles in spanish the same as you would regularly. I hope this helps, let me know if I can help more! Andrew

I am now looking at your spreadsheet (great idea , by the way) - please try to translate those non-english sources, I will provide you with replacement articles for all those articles that have no info available. Please keep me updated if the number of those changes. Andrew

Need Help

Hi Andrew, I have researched a lot, but couldn't find much info for the companies which I have already mentioned in my spreadsheet. I have got plenty of info for Digirati and Dinamon, but that too from their own websites. Do let me know whether I should work on them or not.

So please provide us replacement articles for Cnpython, Corp.com, LLC, Domaines.info, Domainname.at, Domains Only, Domains.cn, Dotzup, Inc. and dotLove.

Also, as I said earlier Dreyfus and associés Company is in my list of 50 companies and I have a written an article on it, but someone else has already posted this article on icannwiki. Do let me know what to do?Anaya

From Today morning I am unable to upload logos. Each time there is a upload warning The upload directory (public) is not writable by the webserver. Please help. Anaya

Regarding the upload error, I'm having the same problem and we are trying to fix it. Please use my discussion page to ask me questions, not your own. This is because I am not notified when you write on your own page, only when you write on my discussion page; thus, I had no idea you were still having problems. Please place any problems you still have on my discussion page by clicking on my blue name link and then clicking the discussion tab. If this does not make sense email me at andrew[at]icannwiki.com Andrew

Categories

Hi Anaya, I have noticed that you have been creating categories for the industry a company belongs to. Please do not do this. We only categorize by place and whether the article is a person, company, organization, etc, as well as registries and registrars. Thanks. Caterina

I have begun to supply you with replacements. There are still not enough, but I will add to the list soon. If a page has already been created, or if there is no information on the company then don't create the page (i.e. Dreyfus article). Some of the companies I've already given you may not have much information, it may mean that you can't create an article or that they are stubs (which we count as half an article). Let me know if you have any problems or questions. Andrew

Reminder

I've noticed that some of your articles have not been redirected from the .org site, please bear this in mind:

Forwarding Links & Wiping the Page

It is the writer's responsibility to wipe the old pages from icannwik.ORG and create links to the new icannwiki.COM. An example of this can be seen here. Explain in similar terms that the site is moving, that this particular article has been moved, and then point to it with a link. Something like: "ICANNWiki.org is being moved to ICANNWiki.com, this article has already been moved can can be found [(link) here]."

The wiped page should contain the disclaimer & link to the new site but it should also contain the category "ICANNWiki.com" (with that exact spelling and capitalization). As you know, the formatting for this is: . This is the only category that the wiped pages need, it should no longer contain a "People" or 'Company" category. This will help us to track our progress of moving over the old site.

Duplicates

I'm trying to fix the duplicate problems today. It seems Webhosting.info was already written by another writer, I deleted this from your list (you had created the page but had yet to put in any text). Sorry for the inconvenience. Andrew

Sorry

I am reworking the assigned batches to eliminate duplicates. Sorry for the inconvenience, I will keep you updated as I make any significant changes to your assignment. If you don't have enough articles I am in the process of completing your list.Andrew

Almost done!

Thanks for your continued work and your updates via vWorker. The articles look good, I look forward to seeing your completed batch! Andrew

Your editing is next in line, after I finish Marie's. I appreciate your patience during the editing process. Andrew

Editing

Hi Anaya, I've begun editing your articles. I have noticed some problems with your referencing. I originally made note of them with the Computerwire article, but have noticed the problem seems to be universal. It is important that your citations are accurate. Please make sure that everything in your articles references back to the exact page that you originally got the information from. If this requires that you use more than one reference per paragraph, or even per sentence, so be it. But it is integral to the integrity of the site that all our information be appropriately cited. If you could go back through all of your articles and try to fix the references, that would be amazing. Thanks, Caterina

Additionally, please try to avoid putting sources in the headers. A reference should come after the text it is citing.

Please pay attention to the specific remarks made on your user page, but I will also make some more general statements here (as Caterina has already done):

 • Services for registrars generally are unnecessary, as they are universal. You may have already gotten used to what these include (web hosting, transfers, email services, renewal, registration, etc.) Unless there is something truly unique in their service offerings, then don't bother mentioning them. Status?

I apologize but given all of our busyness associated with the ICANN Singapore meeting I've lost track of your status. Where are you in the editing process and when do you expect to finish? Is there anything unclear or any other help I can give?Andrew

So, am I correct to assume that all editing is complete an we can start anywhere on the list? If not, could you please mark the articles that are edited and awaiting final sign off by bolding your initials next to the article, or something to that effect. Andrew

I'm sorry for the delay, but I just finished editing other work. I will begin with your articles tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, and keep checking back in. Andrew

I have finished editing and have identified a number of things that need to still be fixed. Please let me know when you have fixed these remaining issues. Thanks! Andrew

Only one more problem left to fix! Andrew

Great!

Thanks for the great work, and the continued attention. Right now, we don't have another project we need completed, and we have our hands full.
