Filiz Yilmaz works in Network Development EMEA for Subspace. She was the Senior Director of Participation and Engagement at ICANN[1] from 2010 to 2013. Inspired by her own experience as a first-time ICANN meeting attendee at ICANN Seoul, Filiz established the Newcomers track and lounge in order to make the experience less overwhelming for future first-timers.

Filiz is a member of the ASO Address Council and participates in RIPE, APNIC, LACNIC, AfriNIC, ARIN, ISOC Turkey, and other IT groups in Turkey.[2]
