.android is a delegated Brand TLD in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The applicant is Google (Charleston Road Registry Inc.).[1] It was delegated to the Root Zone of the DNS on the 12th November, 2014, completing the successful application for the string.[2]

On 7th August 2014, Google (Charleston Road Registry Inc.) received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .android after passing the Initial Evaluation. [4]
