Career History

Mr. Gomes also worked for Verisign's predecessor, Network Solutions, which was the original registry that managed .com, .net, and other TLDs before even the inception of ICANN and the later takeover of the company by Verisign in 2000. From 1995 to 1999, he led customer service in support of Network Solution’s Internet domain name registration services. During this time, he saw staff grow from 25 to 220 and the number of domain registrations grow from about 135,000 to over 3.4 million. Previously at Network Solutions, Mr. Gomes managed various programs and projects involving delivery of technical services to U.S. state and federal government agencies. Projects ranged in scope from data center construction and equipment/software procurement to computer center operations, training and information center support.

Before joining Network Solutions in 1984, Mr. Gomes was a secondary school math teacher. He has a Master of Education degree from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mathematics from the University of California at Davis.[6]
