It was a side project of Ahmad Mukoshy [1], a web developer and freelancer at the time, a student at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto in Nigeria. The business grew and was rebranded to GigaLayer.com in 2013 to position itself for the Global and African markets. Its first office opened in Lagos in 2014 with a workforce of a few people within a technology innovation hub called iDEA Nigeria. In 2015, GigaLayer moved to its premises in Lagos, Nigeria, with entire operations and expansions to reach the African market.
Between 2013 and 2017, GigaLayer made a few acquisitions to boost its market share in Nigeria.
