Barry Leiba is an Area Director for Applications and Real-Time at IETF. He has been active in the IETF since the mid-1990s and is an author of a number of proposed standards. He has previously served on the IESG and the IAB, and is currently a member of ICANN's Security and Stability Advisory Committee (SSAC).[1] He is currently the Director of Internet Standards at Futurewei Technologies.[2]
Career History[edit | edit source]
Leiba worked at IBM from 1997 to 2009[1] and ended his tenure as a Senior Technical Staff Member at IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research center.[2] He is also an Assistant Editor in Chief for IEEE Internet Computing Magazine.[2]
Intellectual Property[edit | edit source]
During his time with IBM, Leiba was listed as an inventor on a number of patents, including patents related to anti-spam technology and context services technology.[2] He is a named inventor on seventeen patent applications.[3]
