Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) is a global multi-stakeholder organization that was created an 1998 and empowered through actions by the U.S. government and its Department of Commerce. Its primary responsibility is to manage the Internet's core infrastructure, which consists of IP addresses, domain names, and root servers. It coordinates the Internet's DNS, IP addresses and autonomous system numbers, which involves a continued management of these evolving systems and the protocols that underly them.
ICANN 58 is being held from 11-16 March 2017 at the AC Hotel Bella Sky Copenhagen in Copenhagen, Denmark. It marks Meeting A of 2017, under ICANN's new meeting structure. On 1 October 2016, the oversight of ICANN transitioned from the U.S. government to the private sector, which will govern the Internet's unique identifiers through the multistakeholder model.
In addition to the all of the important issues covered during this meeting, ICANNWiki has a new limited edition Playing Card decks, the ICANNWiki Quickie, the caricature badges and of course our Edit-a-thon.

Welcome to ICANNWiki

We are partnering with nTLDStats to provide a robust and comprehensive resource on New gTLDs. By integrating their statistics into our site, we are creating a resource that will demystify the world of new gTLDs.

The userbox (pictured left) now features statistics such as registrations and parked domains, as well as important dates relating to each TLD. you will also find more factual information on each TLDs article and more statistics on ntldstats.com.

Our aim is to ensure that the DNS remains a secure, stable, open and healthy resources for everyone.
