.madrid is new geographical TLD proposed to ICANN's new gTLD expansion program by Punto Madrid, a non-profit organization dedicated in promoting business, social, cultural, internet and new technologies for the benefit of communities in Madrid. Punto Madrid's initiative to apply for the .madrid string is headed by Alexander Siffrin of Key-Systems; Jose Lagos of Dinamiq and Jose Maria Santo Tomas of Estudio Juridico Serrano Internacional. They serve as the organizations' president, vice president and secretary respectively. [1]
