More information:

.gift is an active gTLD that was proposed to the New gTLD Program of ICANN. The Registry and manager of the TLD is Uniregistry. Their proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 18 January 2014.[1]

It was originally applied for by both Famous Four Media and Uniregistry though the former withdrew in August 2013, presumably after some sort of private deal.[2]

Contract Signed[edit | edit source]

On 17 Oct 2013 Uniregistry received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .gift after passing the Initial Evaluation.[3]

Delegation and Availability[edit | edit source]

.gift was delegated to the Root Zone of the DNS on January 18, 2014, completing the successful application for the string.[1]
