Raúl Echeberría has served as the Executive Director of LACNIC since 2002.[1] He is also currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees for ISOC.[2]

ICANN Involvement

Raúl has been a member of the board of ENRED, member of the DNC 1999, and Chairman of LACNIC from 2000 and 2002. He was also a researcher for the NAIS Project at the University of Oxford from 2000-2001, and program coordinator and APC ICT Policy Monitor for Latin America and the Caribbean in 2002.

Past Work

From the beginning of 1990, he was responsible for Technology at National Institute of Agricultural Research of Uruguay, where he had an important role in the initiation and development of Internet in Uruguay.

Education

He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of the Republic of Uruguay and a Masters Degree in Information Technologies.
