At various duty stations in Japan, California, and Maryland, she wrote and edited articles for the base newspaper, organized community relations events, and ran the budget, marketing, and event coordination efforts for the local recruiting stations. Diana also won several awards for her writing and received the Navy Achievement Medal for her work in the field.
