.science is a GTLD that was proposed in ICANN's New gTLD Program. On June, 25th, 2013, TLDH decided to withdraw two applications, leaving Famous Four Media as the sole applicant.[1] .science was delegated to the Root Zone of the DNS on the 15th November, 2014, completing the successful application for the string.[2]

Famous Four Media (dot Science Limited), the company has applied for 61 new gTLDs.[3]
Previous Applicant
Top Level Domain Holdings Ltd. filed for .science on its own behalf.[4] It withdrew its application in June 2013, due to a partnership and revenue-sharing model between TLDH and Famous Four Media.[5]
Contract signed
On the 11th September 2014, Famous Four Media received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .science after passing the Initial Evaluation.[6]
Delegation
.science was delegated to the Root Zone of the DNS on the 15th November, 2014, completing the successful application for the string.[7]
