.bb is the country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Barbados. It is administered by the Telecommunications Unit pf the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Smart Technology under the Government of Barbados.
Delegation History[edit | edit source]
.bb was created on September, 1991, and it was administered by the University of Puerto Rico. In 1996, Cable & Wireless (C&W) assumed the administration of the “.bb” domain name from the University of Puerto Rico. A 2001 Memorandum of Understanding was then later signed between the Government of Barbados and both Cable & Wireless (Bartel) Ltd. and its sister company Cable & Wireless (BET) Ltd., to continue the administration of the ".bb" domains until the government selected alternate directives.[1] In November 2007, .bb was again relegated to the Telecoms Unit within the Government of Barbados.[2]
Rules[edit | edit source]
- Applicants must have a local presence to register a ".bb" domain.
- All persons desirous of obtaining a ".bb" Domain Name must complete the Domain Name Registration Application Form TU052 and submit a fee payment.
